Q.
Do I need to appear in person to request funds
A.
The PEF does not require anyone to appear before the Board.
However, if you feel your grant request needs further explanation or
clarification, you may want to schedule time before the Board or contact a
member of the Board to answer any expected questions
Q.
Does the PEF fund independent projects?
A.
Only if the materials can be used by other students or will have a
lasting benefit to students.
Q.
Does the PEF fund after school or sports programs?

will review grants to fund equipment or reusable materials that have a lasting
benefit.
Q.
What categories of programs or materials does the PEF fund?

extra-curricular programs and materials that enhance or enrich students’
experiences at Parker and that are not provided for in the regular curriculum
budget.
Q.
Does the PEF fund expenses related to after school club tournaments or

requesting a portion of the funds necessary for clubs to register and travel to
competitions and tournaments.
Q.
Is the number of students that will benefit from the grant an
important consideration?
A.
Yes, the PEF looks at the number of students who will benefit in the
short-term as well as how the grant will enrich the broader Parker community.
Q.
Do I need to submit three quotes?
A.
The PEF expects applicants to research and provide competitive pricing.
Q.
Will the PEF fund grants for materials or programs where expenses
already have been incurred?
A.
No.
Q.
Will the PEF consider grants that require funding in between PEF grant
cycles?
A.
On a limited basis, the PEF will review grants submitted outside the
regular grant cycle, if an opportunity arises to enhance students’
experiences. As always, the grant
request must be reviewed and signed by the principal.
You must notify the PEF Chair,
Mary Feeley, mefeeley@charter.net by
email of the timing and need for the “out of cycle” grant request. The PEF
Chair will notify the PEF Board members via email and request a vote. The PEF
will not accept grant requests if the funding has been committed prior to PEF
review.
Q.
How do I know if my grant application is scheduled for review?
A.
Notify the grant administrator when you submit a grant. It is the
applicant’s responsibility to make sure the grant is signed by Teri and
submitted in the PEF mailbox by the grant due date.
