Parker Classic Road Race and Springfest draws a field of 350 runners to to scenic and historic Fort Devens for certified and sanctioned 2-mile and 5-mile competitions.  This year the race boasts a brand new single loop 5- mile course that winds through Devens, past historic buildings and by the beautiful Red Tail Golf Course.  Following the race enjoy food and fun at the Springfest, with lots of activities for you and your family.

Road Race book sale:_____________________________________

Parker Road Race Book Sale will be bigger than ever with over 300 books available for purchase. About 80% of these will be older works of fiction geared toward adult readers featuring authors such as Bellow, Tyler, Murdoch, Waugh, Nabokov, and West.

All proceeds from the Book Sale benefit the Parker Library's book budget as we continue to update and expand our collection for teens and young adults.

Post Race Activities:_____________________________________

After the race please join us as we fire up the grills for a post-race Springfest.  All walkers, runners, families, and friends are invited to enjoy a savory cookout, games, music, massage and more.  Don’t miss it.  It’s the perfect way to spend a spring afternoon.

This race is hosted by the Parker Essential Fund (PEF) and proudly supported by the Parker school community.  All race proceeds directly enhance educational activities at F.W. Parker Charter Essential School. Since 1995, the tax-exempt PEF has donated more than $120,000 to the Parker School to fund essential school functions, including:

Specialized classroom equipment, such as 3D modeling software

Books

Wellness equipment

Faculty training

Arts programs

Community outreach programs

THE F. W. PARKER CHARTER ESSENTIAL SCHOOL__________________

A 6-year public secondary school located in Devens, Massachusetts, Parker was founded in 1995 as one of the state’s first charter schools. Enrollment in the Parker School is open by lottery to all Massachusetts residents in grades 7-12.  Over 360 students from 40 Massachusetts communities currently attend the school.  The school is based on a set of principals that call for personalized instruction, academic achievement, and community service.
