CLASSROOM CAMPAIGN

About the Campaign

Campaign F.A.Q.s Donors to Date Amount Raised to Date Make a Donation

Parker has before it a chance to add long-needed classroom space for about a quarter of the cost of building this space, new. To take advantage of this remarkable opportunity, however, we need to raise $1 million, in pledges and gifts, by June. Here’s how we’re going to do it.

  • Trustees                                   $325,000               Goal achieved
  • Parents                                    $350,000               Average donation $1500
  • Alumni Parents                      $225,000               Average donation  $1500
  • Parker Essential Fund           $51,000                 Awarded by PEF Board,      nnnnmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm3/28/07
  • Students, Staff, Graduates,

    Friends of the School*           $50,000

          TOTAL                                    $1,000,000

*  There is a matching grant for student and staff gifts.

Parker is a community and we are depending on each member of  the community in order to raise the above huge funds.  If Parker were a town we could tax each individual in order to spread the burden evenly.  If Parker were a private school, we might depend on gifts from the Alumni (Parker’s oldest Alumni class is only two years out of college.) If Parker were a traditional public school we could apply for a grant from the state, but charter public schools aren’t eligible for this money.  This campaign has to depend upon generous contributions from our Parker community.

Parker is a remarkable, caring environment that challenges every child to reach high standards, and now the school is asking for our support. One of the strengths of our school community is its diversity, and we expect to see a wide range in what families are able to donate. All we ask is that every family be as generous as they possibly can.

The Trustees and the Classroom Campaign Committee has been giving gifts ten times more that they have ever given.  This is because they understand the enormity of the task ahead of us and the opportunity we have right now to get the space the school needs at a price we won’t see again.  The Board of Trustees and the Campaign Committee is not made up of wealthy families, just families committed to health and welfare of the Parker School.

Please join us and give generously.
